US-Israeli Strikes in Northern Iran Kill Dozens, Including Children

(MENAFN) Airstrikes carried out by US and Israeli forces in northern Iran on Tuesday leave at least 18 people dead, including two children, and injure 24 others, according to reports.

The attacks reportedly target residential neighborhoods in the Alborz province during the morning hours. As stated by reports, the strikes damage homes and shelters, causing significant casualties among civilians.

Officials confirm that 18 people are killed, among them two children, while 24 others suffer injuries and are transferred to medical facilities for treatment.

The violence comes amid ongoing regional escalation that began when Israel and the US launched a large-scale offensive against Iran on Feb. 28. Since then, more than 1,340 people have been killed, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, although authorities have not released updated figures in recent days.

In response, Tehran has carried out retaliatory drone and missile attacks aimed at Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military bases. These strikes have resulted in casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and air travel.
